Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Global Nomad ("we", "us") is operated by Paradoxo Hercúleo, Unipessoal Lda, a company established in Portugal. For anything about this policy, contact hello@globalnomadapp.com.
2. What the app does with your answers
The assessment (citizenship, age, education, work, language, finances, goals and optional history questions) is evaluated by code running inside your web browser. Your answers are not transmitted to, stored by, or visible to us. If you close the page, they are gone unless you use one of the features below.
- Results link ("Copy results link"). This encodes your answers into the web address itself so you can reopen or share your results. Anyone you send that link to can see the answers it contains. Treat it like a document: share it only with people you trust, and do not post it publicly. We do not receive the link unless you send it to us.
- Save on this device (if offered). Stores your answers in your browser's own storage on your device only. Clearing your browser data removes it. Nothing is sent to us.
- Print / save as PDF. Handled entirely by your browser and device.
3. Information we do receive
- Feedback and messages. If you use the feedback button, contact us, or email us, we receive what you choose to send (for example your message, the screen you were on, and your email address if you include it). Feedback submissions are delivered through our hosting provider’s form service (Netlify), acting as our processor. We use it only to respond and to improve the service, and we keep it no longer than needed for that purpose.
- Anonymous visit counts. We may use a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics service to count page visits and understand which parts of the app are used (for example number of visitors, country-level region, device type). This does not use cookies, does not build profiles, and does not include your assessment answers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for this.
- Hosting logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) to operate and secure the service.
- Fonts. The app loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which may see your IP address in that request. No assessment data is involved.
4. Cookies
The app does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever introduce features that require cookies or similar storage beyond what is described above, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
5. Legal bases (for visitors in the EU/EEA and UK)
Where data-protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving a free public service (for visit counts and hosting logs), and on your consent or our legitimate interest in replying to you (for messages you send). Because your assessment answers never reach us, we hold no profile of you.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers needed to run the app (hosting, analytics, email), who act on our instructions, or where the law requires it. Listed migration professionals in the "Get help" directory do not receive your answers from us; you decide what to share with them directly.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal information about you. Because we do not store your assessment answers, most requests will concern messages you have sent us. Email hello@globalnomadapp.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Children
Global Nomad is designed for adults planning their own migration. If you are under 18, please use the app together with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Security and retention
Because assessment data stays on your device, the main safeguard is your own device and how you share your results link. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle them. The app is served over HTTPS.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, if we add optional accounts or new features). The effective date at the top always shows the current version, and material changes will be signposted in the app.
Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By using Global Nomad you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What Global Nomad is — and is not
Immigration rules, fees, thresholds and processing times change frequently and sometimes without notice. We work to keep the dataset accurate and each pathway shows the period in which its rules were last checked, but you must confirm current requirements on the official government page linked on each pathway, and where appropriate with a licensed professional, before making decisions or spending money.
3. Your responsibilities
- Answer the assessment for yourself (or with the consent of the person it concerns) and as accurately as you can — inaccurate answers produce unreliable results.
- Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer for resale, or misrepresent the app or its results (for example, presenting a score as an official determination).
4. Migration professionals directory ("Get help")
The directory lists independent lawyers, agents and advisers who are not our employees or agents. Where a listing shows a "verified" indicator, it means the provider supplied licensing information that we reviewed at listing time; it is not a guarantee of quality, current standing, or outcome. Any engagement, fee or advice is strictly between you and the provider — please verify their licence with the relevant regulator yourself. Some listings may be paid ("Featured") placements; these are labelled and never influence eligibility scores.
5. Intellectual property
The app, its design, text, scoring logic and compiled dataset are owned by us or our licensors. Government information linked from the app belongs to the respective authorities. You may share results links and printed results for personal use.
6. Availability
The app is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage — including refused applications, lost fees, missed deadlines, or reliance on outdated information — arising from your use of the app or the directory. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and disputes are subject to the courts there, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you enjoy where you live.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the effective date shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
